Hari Krishna Mandir or for that matter any other temple is built not because Thakur and Radha Ma have no other abode, but because Indira and Dada would breathe life with their love into them.
Temples are for devotees, the ashram was built not because you and I need a big shelter but because it would be a dynamo of our love and Gurubhakti and a source of inspiration for all who know and love us and want to be our co-travelers on this eternal Pilgrimage. I have always maintained that ashram life, collective bhakti are very essential in modern day sadhana.
